Description:

Best Celeb Gossip [dot] com is desirable due to its domain name, and it’s specialty (one of a kind) Wordpress theme and header. It receives over 50,000 uniques/mo and about 100,000 page views. This blog is extremely well linked with other members of the celebrity gossip community and has reciprocal links with all the blogs on its blogroll (such as: TMZ, Splash News, etc.) Best Celeb Gossip is also listed in Google, MSN and Yahoo. Best Celeb Gossip has over 402,000 backlinks, over 1300 posts in more than 250 categories, and has posts picked up by big media publishers, such as USA Today, Radar Online and FARK.

It’s a PR6, which makes Best Celeb Gossip that much more valuable since most celebrity blogs are PR0 to PR5. Only a select group are PR6 and PR7. As well, it has about 120 RSS subscribers/day and was built-up without putting any money into advertising.

Bonus: You'll also be receiving the customized/coded MySpace page for “Heidi”. You can continue using it or take the code and most/all/none of the write-up and customize for yourself. What else… oh ya, you’ll be getting plenty of emails on a daily basis with news agencies and PR companies sending you gossip/pics, etc. (including, but not limited to Hollywood.tv, Page Six (NY Post), Ability Films, Marie Claire UK, etc.).

Revenue Details:

The blog was not monetized like it could be. The current owner was mainly focused on growing its traffic and now doesn't have the time to continue building or monetizing it. The new theme (with the 300x250 and 728x90 ad spots) was just implemented @ the end of March 2008 and will make monetizing the blog that much easier!

DNSCoop.com appraised the site:

The estimated value of http://www.bestcelebgossip.com is: $430,334

Traffic Details:

The blog's traffic comes from many different sources and it's believed that a large % of it's readers are women aged 15 to 35.

Organic: 10-15%
Referring sites: 70-80%
Direct traffic: 12-15%

Questions to the Seller

  1. How is the site updated and how much time does it take to run the site? Also could you pm me the bin?

  2. Where is the traffic sourced from? Would you consider lowering the minimum bid?

  3. Take care not to show your ctr information on adsense. I would also not show email and pub id.

  4. Thanks tattobit for the help. It's my first auction. The traffic is sourced from an insane amount of sources, some from reciprocal links from the blogroll, some from websites/blogs that I don't link to, search engine traffic (Google, MSN and Yahoo!), and link-love posts reciprocals. I hope that answers your question vanalli. Oh, and I don't think that I'll be lowering the minimum bid. I've received a lot of interest since the auction went live and it's only been up for a matter of hours. Hi Codybraxton, the site's updated with 4 to 6 posts daily, written by myself and my friend Claudia. It takes about 30mins to 45mins a day to run the blog. Plus, every two weeks I switch the poll, which takes about 20mins. Oh, and then there's the horoscopes page... once a month, 20 mins. Thanks, Heidi

  5. price kinda steep heidi.

usually its 24 month rev max. i mean...its rare i even see 24 month rev as the sale price but...if the site is really good, you can swing that.

    8000/120 is what?

  6. your minimum bid is way too high heidi. i think there is interest here, i would recommend starting out at 3x monthly revenue and getting the buyers to bid it up, you are not going to get $8000 for this.

  7. Hi eron and infoshowzen. I'm into celebrity gossip and not into monetizing the blog. It's the only site/blog I've ever created and like I said, I was 95% focused on building the traffic and dishing the dirt. I've only put up Google Adsense and now I added 1 Linkshare banner @ the beginning of April. I've only ever tried 1 other banner... the Smileys for a few days. So, three times monthly revenue is not an accurate predictor of this site's value. If you're only interested in this blog for Adsense revenue, then it's clearly not the blog for you.

  9. Hi Art, The site's been PR6 since early Feb.2008 when Google had their last PR update. Before that it was PR5 (October 26, 2007 PR update). The blog's only gone through 2 PR updates since it's been live and it's only ever been a PR5 and then PR6. Thanks, Heidi

  10. Ahhh, 402,000 backlinks? That's really good and think it's worth more than 8k. Heidi, I really wouldn't take anything less. Dnscoop.com has your site valued for a lot more than 8k.
