The website being sold is a proxy site. Its purpose is to allow visitors to the site to surf the web anonymously, and to bypass the internet filtering software at their school or workplace.

This sale includes the website files and the domain name of the website, plus any traffic the site is receiving. The site uses the latest version of the free Zelune proxy script available from http://zelune.net/ . PHP with cURL support is required by the site. No database is required. Once the domain name has been transferred and a hosting account set up, setting up the site just involves changing the placeholder email address in the 'mailer.php' file to a valid one, uploading the site files via FTP, and changing the permissions of a couple of folders. Note that all advertising will have been removed from the website files, as the ads on the demo site all use my affiliate codes.

The site has been freshly promoted to the traffic sites listed on its home page under the 'Proxy Lists' heading, and to my small newsletter group at http://tech.groups.yahoo.com/group/proxywebsitelist/ . I will also provide the buyer with a list of proxy newsletters and other traffic links which they can use to promote the site further.

The site includes 'Acceptable Use Policy', 'Privacy Policy', and 'Contact' pages. These pages are important as many advertisers and search engines either require them, or favor sites which have them. The contact page uses a PHP form with image validation. The buyer will need to replace the default email address used by the form with their own email address. Instructions regarding this are provided in the 'Read Me.txt' file incuded with the site files.

Proxy sites require a lot of server resources, particularly RAM. Generally you will want to run the site on a VPS or dedicated server. You can possibly get away with running it on shared hosting, but the hosting should be set up specifically for running proxy sites. If you visit the commercial exchange forum at Proxy.Org ( http://proxy.org/forum/commercial.board.html ) you can find many types of hosts that target proxy hosting, including shared hosts and some free hosts.

Generally I find that proxy sites don't use excessive amounts of bandwith (data transfer) as long as problem countries such as China are blocked, as is the case with this site. They do use more bandwidth than a normal site, but it's generally within an acceptable range.
