Maintenance:

The site has a simple design to keep the bandwidth under control, since it's basically a mobile site, so it has to be fast. That's why it fits into a $10 hostgator hosting together with 2 other sites.

Also the database is simple and all administration is made "by hand" directly into the database. If you feel the need you can create a simple control panel but for us it was never necesary since there is only one table and only a few games are added each month.

Some of the new games are submited by their creators using email, around 2-3 per month, so maintainance is not time consuming.

Potential:

In July this year Apple will release a SDK that will allow third party apps for the iPhone, including games. At that point the site could be turned into an online store for games (if Apple does not ask for iTunes exclusivity), a paid review site, or simply an add powered games review site like it is.

The thing is that at the moment there are no iPhone games (except web javascripts and a dozen underground games) and yet the site manages to have around 7000 uniques per day. When games will be released Google searches will increase, leading to an income increase even if you don't make any changes to the site.

Why I sell:

The plan for this site was to get no 1 in Google for "iPhone games" (which is quite easy, as the site was no 1 for around a week in January, and it had 14.000 uniques/day) and then when the SDK was relesed to develop our own games and sell them through the site. But Apple had other plans as it announced in Feb the SDK will be available only for US citizens. At that point we stoped promoting the site, yet it remained at a constant 7000 uniques/day.

Payment: I prefer the Escrow service from Moneybookers or Wester Union money transfer. I can also accept PayPal but I'd prefer to use an escrow service.

Revenue Details:

- Non iPhone visitors (around 1300/day) are monetized using AdSense and generate around $300-$400 per month. Also Amazon is used to monetize but it does not have a special chanel so I can't tell the amount it makes, but I estimate it's under $50 per month.

- iPhone & iPod Touch visitors (around 6000/day) are monetized using AdMob which generate around $100-$120 per month.

BUT (and this is a big but): AdSense allows you to monetize the iPhone and iPod touch visitors using standard adsense units. This should alow for an increased income of over $1000/month if we keep the proportions from the non iPhone visitors. The site is designed to fit a halfbanner in the header, right of the logo, and a 300x250 block on the bottom.

I chosed not to display adsense to iPhone visitors since I have a large network of sites and the increased income could not justify the risk of smartpricing (or worse) due to accidental clicks caused by the touch screen interface. That's why I would not recomend using AdSense to the potential buyer but i see most iPhone optimized sites do it so the risk might not be that big.

Traffic Details:

Most visitors come from Google, forums where users post the link as a useful resource and third party blog posts. You can see some of the referers in the attached screenshot.

The site has around 1500 backlinks according to Yahoo Site Explorer.

When i created this auction i've added Google Analytics code. Hope to have some relevant stats in a few days.

Visitors are filtered by browser, regular computer users see the page you see online and iPhone/iPod Touch visitors see an optimized version like in the attached screenshot.
