(almost no) Site Maintenance

Both sites run entirely on autopilot. Both sites fit on a Hostgator "Baby" account with 10+ other small sites. Both run on Wordpress and use only 3 plugins.


Huge Potential for iPhone and/or Mobile Phone Niche Domination

The iPhone continues to be one of the most popular smartphones in the world and with worldwide distribution expected to reach 10 million+ users during 2008. With the upcoming release of the SDK for iPhone, iPhone customization will be a crazy hot topic and there has been whispers of colored iphones for a while.

All of the content is 100% unique. There is a ton of room to add more content to further dominate the iPhone sub-niches using the sites' authority as a springboard.

Both sites can be converted to market custom iPhones, iPhone games (huge market with SDK release), or a combination of mobile phone related niches (especially since PinkiPhone.net already ranks #2 in Google for "Pink Phone."

Especially impressive is that there has been absolutely no official announcement of a pink iPhone from Apple (though there are rumors) yet PinkiPhone.net manages 15k uniques per month with no promotion.

The .com equivalents of both PinkiPhone.net and PinkiPhone.com are both registered but the owners are doing nothing with them so there's really no competition.

 

Why I'm Selling

Quite frankly, I just don't deal with these kinds of content sites at all and I'd rather sell them to use the funds for my main focus (info product marketing and promotion). The reason I built them in the first place was because I saw an affiliate offer for both the pink iphone and purple iphone (available through PrimaryAds and Copeac - see below for revenue stats) and I thought it would be fun to dominate the niches.

These sites have a huge potential for monetization potential for Adsense ads (never placed on either site), mobile phone software downloads, mobile phone game downloads, mobile phone customization, etc. I just don't have the time or the desire to customize them to their full potential.

I'll offer support for up to 30 days after the end of the auction. If you have ever worked with Wordpress before, you probably won't need it but I'll definitely be available.

PinkiPhone.net makes the bulk of income at an average of $360 per month. It fluctuates from ~$500 or so down to ~$250, though this would be dramatically increased with active promotion and/or varying monetization techniques.

Adsense revenue may be huge or maybe not - I'm not sure. I've never been a fan of Adsense as a business model so I never tested it on these sites.

Traffic Details:

All Traffic Comes From Search Engines

Both PinkiPhone.net and PurpleiPhone.net are running pretty strong in both Google and MSN since I pretty much only optimized for Google. Yahoo isn't showing much love, but it wouldn't be difficult at all for both sites to shine on Yahoo with very little optimization TLC.


I have never pointed Google, Yahoo, MSN or any other PPC ads to either site. I was tinkering around with Facebook ads with PinkiPhone.net for about 3 hours one day back in March but I lost interest and shut it down.

I can't speculate the potential of a PPC campaign because I've never tested it, but I imagine that there is some truly awesome potential there, especially since there is almost zero competition.

I've used whitehat on-page SEO to get them to rank as well as a bit of link-building for PinkiPhone.net but nothing else. As you can see, PurpleiPhone.net has been largely neglected (especially until April) other than on-site SEO and a little link-building yet it still gets SE traffic.

    That's not a problem at all. There's literally hundreds of examples of websites using Apple trademarked terms in the domain name. Just a few examples:

    http://appleinsider.com/
    http://forums.ipodlounge.com/
    http://www.mac-forums.com/forums/

    Those are all large, established sites and, to my knowledge, are not owned or operated by Apple.
