MyLibros targets Spanish learners and readers.  The customer base is primarily schools and educational institutions.  The Company works with many organizations and has open RFPs with several school districts.

Additional: The shopping cart system supports full customization on the front and back-end and allows for the addition of languages and templates. A few of the visual  customizations MyLibros.com utilizes include thumbnail hover previews, product image zoom and drag on product pages, and a special "Customers that bought this also bought this" component.

Revenue Details:

This website earns revenue from book sales.  Revenue fluctuates significantly with the school calendar and the holiday season.  The months of October through January experience significantly higher volumes of traffic, and consequentially sales.  High sales cycles also occur before and after each calendar semester.

Note: Generating revenue from display ads, link or affiliates has not been the primary focus of the site. Many offers have been extended to us but MyLibros has not focused on this form of revenue.

Traffic Details:

Majority of traffic comes from search engines and repeat customers. Website has been promoted in local and targeted social networking, blog, and media sites. Currently ranks on first page for various book and Spanish keywords. These include first page status in Google for “Spanish Books” and “Libros en Español”. Most traffic is organic, however some paid traffic is generated during the holiday season. Additionally, brand and major keywords are paid for throughout the year, however this is a minimal ongoing cost.

  2. We work with third parties (wholesalers) to ship our books direct to the customer. We are not an affiliate site. We are a book retailer with 5% of the books in stock (most popular titles) and the remaining titles are shipped third party/drop shipped to the customer.

  4. Can you pls advise your Monthly revenue for the past 1yr, need to understand how much are u deriving from Affliates?? and ADSENSE. Also, do you pay for traffic or ads, what are your sources for customers??I do own a bookstore already that sells college books and would love to add this to my business..thanks

  6. Expenses: We limit our marketing expenses during the off season but as the holiday season kicks in we start to invest more money. Typically our high expense months are during November – January. Last year during December and January alone we spent $1500 dollars in Google Adwords. This is not a sustainable amount for us to be profitable but we do this because we gain many repeat and loyal customers. Looking at this year so far (2008) we have spent $1024.34 from January to May 2008. This money is spent on keywords that drive sales and have high conversion rates as well as brand terms. The marketing expense report can be emailed.

    Lastly our other regular expense is hosting. That is $50 a month. Keep in mind that from time to time we invest in updating our database of books as well as programming and updates on the shopping cart. These expenses never total more that $500 a year.
