Description:

I'm offering my flight attendant career site for sale, CabinManagers.com, a resource center I first established in April 2004 for corporate flight attendants.

In October 2007 I overhauled the site, repurposed it to include all flight attendants, wrote new content, and have kept it up-to-date ever since.

I spend less than an hour (average) daily working on the site, but devoted a little extra time on it in June to include fresh content and update existing pages. What you see today is a site that has many internal and external links with a solid presence via the search engines, particularly Google and Yahoo.

The site was created with WordPress and has all of the plugins, tags, and other tools needed to help it do well. I particularly like the current theme as the CTR for AdSense has been higher than average.

The current iteration of Cabin Managers isn't a job site, though job leads and the occasional job opening have been posted. Instead, Cabin Managers offers everything a person could want to help them get started with the airlines (resume writing, interview tips, cover letters, references, etc.) without getting overly specific about the varied training practices of each airline or aviation company.

Over the past few months I have boosted traffic to the site through placement of Craiglist ads which has resulted in well over 1000 visitors to the site on some days. I run AdSense which generated $359 in June 2008 and have a handful of linking agreements in place. At one time the site was PR5, now PR3 though I believe PR4 is within reach. Alexa is about 370,000 and the Seomoz Page Strength for the site has been as high as 4.5 recently.

I'm selling the site to concentrate on my automotive freelance work. I am a full-time freelance writer by trade and have enough other projects on my plate to keep me very busy. The quality of writing on Cabin Managers reflects my writing capabilities.

I've sold three other well established airline/aviation sites over the past few years including aviationemploymentboard.com, corporateflyer.net, and jetemployment.com -- I haven't had the buyers update my reputation here, but I'll ask one or more to do so if they can be reached. I've sold at least nine sites over the past three years; my flagship site is located at www.thearticlewriter.com

Cabin Managers could be an excellent addition to your portfolio, particularly if you already have a career or job site. The airline industry is going through some very tough times right now, but that isn't stopping people from inquiring about work opportunities. Having a decent grasp of the industry can be helpful, but it isn't essential to running this site.

Serious inquiries only; I will check back in from time to time over the next few days. Site is hosted with GoDaddy -- domain and file push included. Once sold, I will not be available to provide additional content.

Related *net and *org extensions will be included with this package.

Note: Traffic numbers represent the monthly average since the site was updated in October 2007; in recent months the number of visitors has been much higher.

Revenue Details:

Google AdSense mostly.

Traffic Details:

Craigslist, social bookmarking (including StumbleUpon, Digg, Reddit, etc.) Google search engine, linking agreements, and other important online sites.

  6. I would bid on the condition that I see the traffic sources. The traffic and revenue in June is significantly higher than other months, partly I believe due to it being advertised on Craigslist thus in a sense artificially boosting traffic (artficial in the sense its not the normal amount of traffic). It would be good to know what the regular share of search traffic is, as that is undoubtedly the most important source for any potential buyer. Please update the screentshots with sources or PM them to me. Its a simple request that you could easily upload because you already have the data right there infront of you.

    Thanks!

  7. Monton, thank you for your request. I'm going to withhold that information for now as I tend to a private request made by another inquirer.

Most definitely, June 2008 reflects a surge of Craigslist postings, something I haven't hidden, but took care to list first when disclosing the sources of traffic.

Cabin Managers strength lies in several other areas -- age of site, web content, back links (numerous and from high quality sites), and search engine presence -- that information and more is easily obtainable online; I hope prospective buyers will do their homework before submitting a bid. By the way, the price for the site is weighted more toward these other factors, not ad revenue.

When serious bids are offered, then I'll supply additional information, most likely privately. There are certain parties to whom I do not wish to disclose this information as it is proprietary and confidential. I will only accept the winning bid if the buyer is satisfied that I have answered his or her questions and the details related to the sale have also been met.

  9. You have posted the traffic for the alst 3 months and I don't think there is any harm in showing the sources of that traffic for the same period. I really don't see why only highly interested bidders should know that; I would have thought that would be one of the more important factors in inducing higher bids as people surely would want to know where the traffic is coming from. I myself have witheld my bid because you haven't tended to my request to show that information both here and via PM. I just want to know that there is a significant search engine presence and traffic as you say there is. I am sure people would much rather have search traffic over Craiglist anyday.

Regarding adsense, it would also be good to show the revenue breakdown for the alst 3 months (month on month) rather than group the quarter together. It seems the site has generated just under $600 in the quarter (3 months), but almost $400 of that has come in June, so a simple math equation would give us an average of around $100 for the other 2 months. And since you readily admit you utilized Craiglist in June to boost traffic, I think its rather unfair to say the site averages $250 a month unless of course you can utilize Craiglist like this all the time.

Please do not believe I am in any way trying to hurt your listing, in fact, my recommendations would only help clarify things and get people bidding.

By the way, I will definately bid if you can either show those traffic referral stats either here or PM them to me.

    Thanks!

  10. I second Monton..
You can't rely on classified listings traffic, which is indeed not the best or correct way to get traffic.
We would like to see the traffic source break-up.

We want to know what we are buying.
