Hello.
I've attached a financial plan and a business plan that details the application, business model, and projected revenues. It should provide all the analysis you need to make an informed decision about the acquisition of the site, platform, etc. It also lists all the site features and functionality in detail.much that may not be evident with just an initial glance over. The site is very feature rich.
This application is centered on the growth of civic journalism. Some small sites like Huffington Post have gotten very large based on the premise. Traditional journalism is being usurped by citizen journalism. Citizen journalism, also known as "participatory journalism," is the act of citizens playing an active role in the process of collecting, reporting, analyzing and disseminating news and information. The intent of this participation is to provide independent, reliable, accurate, wide-ranging and relevant information that a democracy requires.
When you register and login, you will see that very strong feature set including a blogging platform, user profiles, voting, chatting, seeding, news delivery algorithms based on interest/usage, etc. Full feature list is attached.
The audience is the most desirable of net user so high advertisement rates are typically demanded.

Why I am selling?
Although I've put a lot of development effort into the development of the platform and done a considerable amount of research that solidifies this is a great concept with great potential, I've been given another more compelling opportunity. I can't pursue both concurrently. So I must sacrifice this project. I hope to recover at least some of the costs in the process and also hand someone a great business opportunity.
Will I offer support?
Yes. I will offer business and technical support. Also, I have some feature ideas that I think could be implementing that could take the industry by storm. I will share those with you as well.
Good luck with your bidding. I think this is a good opportunity for the right buyer. It has the fit for a real startup.
More details
Every user also gets their own profile and column. The profile allows you to fill in basic information for your visitors to see and the column is actually like your own blog that you even get your own address for you.Yournewswire.net for instance. The profile is where you go to write, manage articles and comments, edit your user information, and also to view your history of article activity (what you see above). The columns that users get are really neat. Every article your write and every link that you seed can be seen through your column. It is like a blog for your Yournewswire activity. Viewers can get an overview of your submitted content, view your profile, and even contact you through a contact form. They can also subscribe to your column with the provided RSS Feeds. When submitting an article to Yournewswire, you have two options. You can create a post or a seed (what you see above). Writing a post is just like you would write on a normal content management system or blog. You fill in the title and the body of the post along with option fields for tags, location, and category. You can then decide to submit the article or save it as a draft to continue working on later. One thing that I didn't see though were instructions for formatting content because a WYSIWYG Editor is not used. I mentioned that you can also seed a link. You have two methods of doing this. You can get an address for the site you want to link and manually paste it into the "Seed a Link" section, or you can add the Yournewswire bookmarklet to your favorites so you can easily seed a site that you are currently viewing. Submitted content can then be commented and voted on and if you receive enough votes, hopefully will make it to the front page or make you a featured writer of
As I have said, Yournewswire has a large amount of functionality. One of my favorite features is the Watchlist. When viewing any tag, category, location, or member column, you will see a button at the top left that says, "Watch." Clicking this button will add that source to the left navigation's Watchlist giving you easy access to it at any time. What is even better about it though is that when a new item has been added to the source, you will see the amount of new articles next to the name on the watchlist, so it acts like a mini aggregator. And speaking of aggregation, Yournewswire also provides RSS Feeds on what seems like every page. You can subscribe to tags, columns, and categories. You can also decide if you want the feed to include Wire and Vine articles or just one of them individually. Feeds for user columns include feeds for posts and links. Another feature worth mentioning are the user-friendly URL's. For example, if you are interested in Google or Ajax, you can simply browse to Yournewswire.net/ajax and it will bring up all articles under that tag. Even permanent links to news items have clean addresses that have the date and title in them. The last feature I want to mention is the location setting. At the top right of Yournewswire is a dropdown box that lets you select a region, like San Francisco. Selecting a region will then filter all news throughout Yournewswire to only be related to that region. If I am interested in seeing news on Technology in the San Francisco area, I can easily do so.
You just read an Associated Press story about the Prank Terrorist attach in Boston on a major news site. Why shouldn't you be able to comment on it like you would on a blog entry? At Yournewswire you can. Why shouldn't you be able to chat about it with whoever else happens to be reading the story at the same time? At Yournewswire you can… right within the story itself.
Yournewswire will promote the belief in turning news into conversation, and every page on Yournewswire is designed to do precisely that.
Since Yournewswire is essentially produced by its readers, it is only fitting that its readers may also become writers. Anyone can sign up for a free Yournewswire account and begin writing their column within minutes. Anytime you write an article or Seed Yournewswire with a link to another article, it will appear in your column (at "yourname.Yournewswire.net") and elsewhere around the site, depending on how it's tagged.
So What makes Yournewswire different?
Features
With a huge set of features to help distinguish it from the rest of the competition, Yournewswire should be seen by users as one of the most personalized news websites.
Seeding
Like all social bookmarking sites available, Yournewswire allows users to "seed," or post links for others to view. Seeds usually contain a short description or direct quotation from the linked article. With the "Yournewswire Button," users are able to simple select "Seed Yournewswire " from their bookmarks and a seeding dialog will appear. Seeds allow for all of the same options as articles except the ability to insert photographs.
Articles
One of the most defining features of Yournewswire is the ability for users to write their own articles. Commonly known as citizen journalism, this extra touch of personalization allows for users to express their opinions for public discussion or even report in a journalistic manner. The most popular articles for top tags appear in the "Featured Writers" section, where article writers can receive extra publicity.
While writing articles, users are also given the ability to upload their own photographs or choose from a list of flickr photos registered under a creative commons license for addition to the post. Captions can be written as well to clarify the meaning of the photograph.
Voting
Another common feature among social bookmarking websites is the ability to vote for content. Users who enjoy reading an article/seed or agree with its content are encouraged to vote for the content. Articles and seeds with the most votes appear in the "Top Wire," "Top Seeds," or "Top of the Web" sections of the site.
Yournewswire also allows for users to vote for comments that they enjoyed reading. This aspect of commenting encourages better content and friendly discussions. When a comment receives at least five votes, a green star is placed in the upper right-hand corner, signifying that many users enjoyed or agreed with the comment. Clicking the star will lead viewers to the next highly rated comment.
Commenting
The ability to comment on seeds and articles allows for extra discussions regarding the content to take place. While debates are welcome, useless, insulting, and self-promoting comments are not. If a comment receives enough reports, that comment will be collapsed and its contents can only be shown by choosing to expand it. The Yournewswire comment system also allows for threaded comments, easing the confusion of comment direction. While user's do not yet have the ability to edit or delete their own comments, writers are allowed to delete comments on their own content. Unregistered users are also allowed to have their say, but comments by unregistered users are not made public until that user creates a registered account.
User Columns
Yournewswire user columns give users the ability to manage and share their articles, seeds, friends, recommendations, and other statistical information in a neat fashion. Every user has one, and each is given their own subdomain to access it (<user>.Yournewswire.net). User columns are fully customizable: aspects of the layouts can be moved or hidden, a user photo and biography can be added, a header (such as a welcome message) can be added, friends can be invited to Yournewswire or added to your friends list, recommendations (such as favorite books, bands, blogs, etc.) can be shown, and comments and feedback from other users can be managed. Also, through user columns, members have the ability to add others to their watchlist and friend list or to send another a chat invitation.
Chat Lobby
The Chat Lobby is a section of Yournewswire that manages the various chat rooms available or open. Every article or seed on Yournewswire has the ability to have a chat room created for it, where users can discuss the subject matter real-time rather than posting a comment. While this feature is not often used, the capability is there for those users that want to participate in a discussion.
Watchlist
If a user finds a particular writer or tag that he/she enjoys to read content from, it can be added to the Watchlist. Watchlists are lists of members and tags that a user can compile to easily find interesting news. Items on a user's watchlist appear on the left column and, if there is content that the user has not read by a watchlisted author or tag, a number will appear next to the item name signifying how many articles or seeds have not been read.
Friends List
The Friends List gives users the ability to meet new people and find others with common interests, but there are no requirements in doing so. Creating a populated friends list not only boosts the value of community, but it also gives users the ability to find interesting new articles through the Conversation Tracker. Once a user adds a friend to the list, the added friend receives a notification and is given the ability to accept or decline the offer.
This is not all encapsulating, but this gives a bit more details.
