Questions to the Seller

  1. I imagine this has a dropship business model, right? Proof of traffic and income?

Thanks for your interest. This not dropship, we stock all the products and ship them out.

  5. Sorry, stock isn't included in the sale. Our suppliers have quick turn around times therefore we don't need to hold a large amount of stock.

  7. Hi Smiley, I thought I setup a BIN of $180,000 but I don't see it on the listing. We're willing to consider any serious offer. We have some domain names and a few mini-sites that we be of no use to us if we sell feelconfident.co.uk so I'm going to up date the listing to include those.

  10. Hi FruitMedley,

The vast majority of the £45k is to buy the stock. There are also postage, telephone and hosting costs which aren't very high. Margins vary on the products we sell ranging from 30% on some perfumes to over 100%. Our best selling product is Eyesential. Cost price £14.50 and retails at £39.95.

  13. Thanks for your reply, adrianmc. It appears to me that there is a fair amount of work involved in running a site dealing with customers' orders and payments, ordering and managing stock, packing and shipping goods, covering customer service and managing the website. If none of the £45K is going towards that then you are making £30K in profit only if you value your time as completely worthless. Deduct a fair wage for the time spent (whether spent by you or anyone else) and then you get the real profit figure. How much of time is required to run this business?

  14. Hi FruitMedley,
Thanks, I see your point. I didn’t include our time because we run the site ourselves and see any money we make from it as profit. We’ve designed the site to minimise the time it takes to manage but it does take a few hours per day, Monday to Friday to ship the orders. A rough estimate would be around 500 hours per year. Some basic computer skills would be required but that’s about it so I’ll calculate that at uk minimum wage of £5.52. Total would be around £2,760 therefore gross profit would be a little lower taking that into consideration.

I feel the real value to anyone purchasing the site are the traffic volumes and solid search engine rankings. I’ll attach an up to date rankings report later this evening. It’s running now. Please also see attached estimates from https://adwords.google.com/select/TrafficEstimatorSandbox if you where to try and buy this traffic using Adwords the estimated cost is £3,420 - £5,630 per day and that’s only from the UK.
If wanted to avoid posting and packing, the site would make an excellent foundation for price-comparison network or could be changed to act as an affiliate for other sites.

  15. How much stock do you keep at any one time and where?

Also, what happens with stock that does not get sold?

  16. If one was to buy the site how much would you say would need to be invested in stock up front? Are most of the suppliers based in the UK? You say you used to run the business from home - could this still be done? Do you have any sales stats we could see?

  17. i would think with the number of items on the site just keeping one of each in stock would be tough, especially you have to be dealing with many suppliers not just one.

  20. Thanks for your questions

monton - we hold £5k - £10k of stock in our office in UK

websitemania - All the main suppliers are UK based. The business started in a 1 bedroom flat and certainly could still be run from home. The amount of stock that needs to be held could easily fit into a small room or take up part of a garage. The site started out with £500, profits were put back in to buy more stock and we grew from there. I’m very grateful to this business as it enabled me to leave full time employment and gave me time to focus on other business ideas which are now doing well. Hence my reason for selling.

vcigar - It just takes a little bit of organisation. Some suppliers have minimum orders others don’t. The benefit of holding stock means you could be at the top of the ladder on a drop ship business if you took the time to implement one.

cycloneuk - The number of orders vary. Obviously Christmas is a much busier time as you can see in the stats. We would be shipping about 100 orders following a weekend. The website is designed so that if an item goes out of stock it will stay listed, be marked out of stock and moved to the bottom of the list. Visitors can setup a notification that will automatically email then when the item is marked back in stock. As we have the intention of selling and are not restocking the site it has quite a few products now out of stock therefore orders are lower at about 10 per day.
