Description:

PLEASE READ THIS UPDATE (5/07/08) BEFORE PLACING A BID:

####################################

Reluctantly- RE-LISTED Due to non compliance of sale terms

* Non compliant buyer- no payment recieved nor agreed date to be paid since auction close+36 hours of no communication following payment details sent as requested *Then additional buyer conditions requested on a non conditional bid/ also without any committment to defined payment date.

*In hindsight/on further evaluation: 0% buyer rating and multiple names, plus free email only(when canvassing as company and no contact details provided other than a free email and tel numbers not confirmed here on profile) Sorry, nothing personal, perhaps there are some valid reasons but certainly undisclosed and definately not meeting simple request to pay nor providing confidence and thats the truth.

The end result is; further time & costs incurred and no sale, due to non payment to freely allow site zip+ domain to be given, as set out in terms, and by email.

PLEASE ALSO READ THIS UPDATE (5/07/08) BEFORE PLACING A BID:

THIS AUCTION IS NOW FOR THE FOLLOWING:

  1. SOURCE CODE FULL SITE COPY PROVIDED-UNRESTRICTED EXCLUSIVE RIGHTS
  • INTERACTIONCHAT.COM (DOMAIN)
  • ALL FILES+ DB USERS (NO PAID SUBSCRIPTIONS)
  • WINNER WILL RECEIVE ZIP of full site files+ DOMAIN PUSH (ENOM) immediately following receipt/confirmation of payment.
  • IMPORTANT: NO SUPPORT OFFERED DUE TO RESOURCES & AVAILABILITY OF TIME.
  • readme file included with install info
  • Payment required immediately following Auction completion or if agreed & sold prior then when that happens( failure to do this will result in your offer being invalid) No lay by's periods or extended non communication periods will be accepted as a reason for not paying, sorry this just costs more time, resources and more money.
  • Upon receipt of payment files and domain will be provided to the buyer. No delays or other demands will be accepted. If the auction terms are followed then all will go smoothly.
  • Reserving the right to reject any bids for any reason. If you have a 0% rating here and/or only use FREE EMAIL (gmail, yahoo, hotmail etc), then don't bother bidding! Time is money, so only bid if you feel you are making a confident and informed buying decision.
  • The Website will not be put up on hosting during this auction as the current hosting account does not have postgres8 or db4 support. The appropriate hosting must be sought by the buyer.
  • If not sold, will be further developed offline- so this is not a firesale, it would obviously better if the site had someone who can dedicate time/resources now to keep continuity of service.
  • All of the above info is to stop further incurred costs/time or any misunderstandings with your eligibility to bid and our qualification to be intrested in selling to you, there are many other auctions for sale, if you don't agree- no point arguing- buy something else. we are prepared to take a loss on the sale/ROI by offering a no reserve auction due to lack of time/resources and current committments as long a you meet the terms of this sale, so please bear that in mind.

Server Requirements

- PHP5 compiled with DB4 and PostgreSQL 8.x

web hosts that meet these requirements. You could also rent a VPS.

If you can't do this and don't understand these requirements or feel confident installing, then you will need to factor in getting someone who is qualified to do this for you at your own time and expense.

please do not bid if you do not agree to and understand the requirements or these terms.

Thanks.

source [seodigger.com]

It is a web 2.0 web site with a light-weight Ajax chat application used to provide one-on-one support. It is not a chat room application, it is for customer support. this type of business service has been proven to increase web sales/convesrions by 500%

PROOF:

http://money.cnn.com/2007/10/03/technology/live_chat.biz2/index.htm
http://solutions.liveperson.com/customers/hoovers/overview.asp
http://solutions.liveperson.com/customers/nationalCity/overview.asp

How does it work?

Any webmaster can sign up and create his own account for free (limited features and ads), or a paid version. Then he only has to copy/paste a snippet into his web site and to get connected to be able to start chatting with the visitors of his web site.

The product

The site has been launched in summer 2006 and has grown to around 2000+ users by words of mouth. It is currently available in 3 languages, and you can more at will. The application is run as fully hosted web service, so the customer doesn't have to install any application. The backend is designed to use as little resources as possible with the combination of two technologies: Berkeley DB and RamFS for low server resource usage. The idea was really being to scale well, handling a great number of simultaneous chats at a low cost. It is a full-featured application with great options such as being able for a visitor to request a phone call from the customer support, history, internal search engine, department, simultaneous chats with tabbed chats, IP blocking, custom welcome message, canned messages, private chat between 2 operators, transfer call to other department, and so forth.

Reason for sale

..current company resources and committments, so there is a consolidation of assets to meet core responsibilities and a client focus for dev.

Growth perspective

You will be competing with LivePerson and taking your share of a big market, that of CRM chat support. There is a big need for both free and paid chat support software, especially among online businesses like web hosting companies, online stores, schools and universities, etc...With this application, anyone can put a chat feature on his web site for free if he needs just a simple chat feature, or paid if he needs advanced features such as departments, multisession or searchable history.

On the web there are always people asking for recommendations. People most of the time use pricy LivePerson and phpLive because they don't know there are alternatives. Just set up a Google Alert for "live chat", "live person", "chat support", and respond to all these request as they appear on the web. If you take the time to market this web site, you can take your piece of this growing market and make a significant amount of income, be it with subscriptions and advertising.

Server Requirements

- PHP5 compiled with DB4 and PostgreSQL 8.x

I know at least two web hosts that meet these requirements. You could also rent a VPS but a shared plan is enough, you may also elect to go with the current one as they have very fast support response.

All current users are free users , opportunity to market to the base for other product sales also. On site and in application (off Site via users apps/websites) advertising & monetization is potentially enormous.

these are the three main ways to monetize it:
1. Put advertising on the web site itself
2. Put advertising in the chat window on top (reach a broad audience)
3. Sell Professional and Enterprise chat services ($39 and $49 a month per unit)
Then use part of these revenues to promote the web site and leverage your earnings.

Traffic Details:

The front page has been featured on several web 2.0 blogs on the Internet, I have seen it discussed in forums, and has around 800backlinks. The bulk of the traffic comes from natural search, if you search free web 2.0 chat on Google for instance, the web site is #1. Currently, these are the stats of the last three months according to AwStats:

- Dec 2007: 11043 visits (8948 unique)
- Jan 2008: 14592 visits (11785 unique)
- Feb 2008: 16915 visits (13140 unique)

Due to a server migration there is no stats available until the last couple of weeks. However there are approximately 10 or so new member signing up a day without marketing.

more links:

The website also advertises itself for the following reason. Each web site that uses the chat feature, has to include a snippet into their source code.

When the operator is connected and online, the snippet displays on his web site an image with a person and a headset that read "Online".

When the operator is disconnected, the online status image turns into a subtle advertisement that reads "Online Chat" and that backlinks to our web site.

As most of the time, the webmaster is offline, his online status image advertises us and links to us, so this also drives a significant amount of traffic and helps establishing the brand on the Internet.

This is the first oumber of sites to be offered for sale over the coming days.

Questions to the Seller

  1. The Website will not be put up on hosting during this auction as the current hosting account does not have postgres8 or db4 support. The appropriate hosting must be sought by the buyer.

As you know, I was interested in the previous auction, but really why dont you install the site in a working server? How current members are using the service if the server cannot manage the site? what about people currently signing in found it useful if the chat service is not working? how interested buyers (like me) can test if the script actually works or not(i.e. buggy code) ?

Im still interested, but seriously, I need to test the script to know is good enough to place a bid

    thanks in advance

  3. No terms have been violated on this and communication regarding this auction has been consistent, payment will be sent and this auction CANNOT be re listed as I was the winning bidder on this auction.

The name and free email that is being used for this auction IS for protection of the company purchasing, my personal cellular phone and office work where provided. In regards to my last email payment would be sent once YOU provided me with contact info as in name, address and fax and responded to my last email which was sent 13 hrs ago. I also stated that my bank was verifying the account details you provided, along with this ALSO being 4th of july weekend here things are running slower than usual.

If you would like to know the company that is purchasing this a simple NDA can be provided, I do not believe anywhere there is a need for this but if it eases your concerns no problem.

The additional information requested was that YOU only sign a document stating what was in the auction regarding exclusivity and use , this was to be done after the transaction was completed.

In regards to your 36 hrs of non-communication I will be happy to provide the admins of this forum with all copies of emails sent, along with date/time stamps as the "gap" in communication you are speaking of was between.

You where contacted twice before this via email and once here via pm regarding this auction of which communication has been steady. You are asking for a WIRE transfer of which I have no problem with but WILL verify this before as stated in all my emails.

However I do not believe that in regards to this transaction that sitepoint specifies a timeframe that a transaction needs to be completed and given that you are in Australia and I am located in the states that needs to be factored in.

  4. I never understood, you're selling a thousand dollar product, you can't invest $10 in real hosting? Now you're just losing customers as well as buyers. Too many rules, don't expect a high bid.

  7. All

I would be very cautious of this auction in general, given the fact this user re listed this auction after I won it just just 4 days ago http://marketplace.sitepoint.com/auctions/39115 and is refusing to return emails now, plus the site being "offline".

It has been reported to the moderators, and I cannot seem to get any clarification other than it was to much work for him. Any business deal that gets rushed in 3 days when contact is kept and high pressure tends to be unprofessional to me.

  8. Does look a bit odd. In the previous auction (http://marketplace.sitepoint.com/auctions/39115), seller stated that this website was NOT previously listed for sale. It was.... http://marketplace.sitepoint.com/auctions/22446

This seller purchased it at that auction as I have been in contact with the original owner.

  9. I have a feeling the loss on the auction I won was to much for the seller and this is why he is backing out on selling it to me and refuses to communicate to me any longer.

I had no problem paying the amount I won the auction for and still plan on having this auction removed until this is all settled and I heard back from the moderators on how this should be settled.

  10. Firstly,

I have requested advice in the appropriate area http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=557881.

But thanks to those who are happy to carefully consider the damage to the brand in the SE's before thinking before they speak.

Unfortunately, for those who have just rocked up and started questioning why it isn't online etc,
I have clearly provided reaosns for this both with the original auction and via various replies and apologise
if this appears uncertain because of meshout or anyone else that speaks from an unsubstatiated opinion. Unfortunately
this whole process despite genuine accommodation and updates has been bastardised.

Secondly, before you all run away with paranoia and unsubstantiated claims.

I have been 100 % upfront about the reasons for sale and everthing else.
The site does not cost $10 to host based on specs and requirements, I was paying $99 per month.
There was an incompatibility with the host which was only raised once the prior auction was underway.
This was being worked through via the hosting support and after an extensive period, it was left
as a VPS firewall permission issue with a port setting, which to my knowledge is not the issue. The selling price expectation for the site
was dramatically adjusted down to reflect the unfortunate timing, and to hopefully insure that it would be a simple and effective process
for transfer. I have been advised that this just invited problems as there is truth in the fact that when you offer something
below perccieved or actual value - people start making more demands and become either suspicious and or arrogant.

So, as the site was being sold, and moved to a new host, the account was not continued for another month
as the issue was neither resolved nor agreed on. It was not good timing to have the next month cycle due and added to this awful process.
They migrated the site at the start of last month and there was no issues noted prior to the auction.

It was planned for a quick transfer to the winner of the auction to prevent uneccessary downtime, not unreasonable
and responsibe thing to do considering there were no condition bids made and had that have been a factor, it would have been
made clear that this would not be acceptable to add unecessary delays or obstacles that would interupt service. Certainly
was not expecting buyer false identities or to be dictated to.

This didn't seem to be a priority for Meshout nor did that fact that their attitude and communications
undermined trust completely with continuing further . Theire response above is slightly distorted and the email sent immediately
following had removed the diffrence in name changes even from the reply copy as captured below when you send a reply.

I have this record as I am very concerned about my b/acc details being held by someone who operates like this.

I did not list the site for sale here http://marketplace.sitepoint.com/auctions/22446

I have owned the site bought off the original owner and paid for it late last year and have not sold it prior. I bought the site
via sedo and have all the records ask the original owner- if you think you know everything.
I have emailed to confirm a script settting with them in the last couple of days and they have replied.

If the site has been sold by someone else, then obviously it was without my knowlege and the domain, please
provide this information and I will gladly make inquiries with anyone involved.

    Now
Meshout you have violated sitepoint terms.
#leaving negative comments # keeping your details updated (doesn't mean changing your name between emails)
You cannot expwect anybody to sell or buy from you if you use different identities
And have an arrogant/partronising attitude. OIf you were legitimate, you would apologise and realise the error in your ways.

Read the guidlines and participant rules again, you need to respect them.
I do and I am not obliged to assume any risk with a transaction if deemed
problematic as a business trust factor (same as you)

You can also read the post auction text from sitepoint regarding this. buying and selling
has a trust factor and you have been so focused on yours and ignored mine.

Due to current circumstances the site is regretably being withdrawn for sale.

All exisitng bidders have been mesaged, (if you bid and or some reason haven't received a pm for a personal response, I will gladly re-send)

The reasons are outline here in more detail: http://www.sitepoint.com/forums/showthread.php?t=557881
