thebasementgroup.com was started in mid - March, by April the site was generating significant traffic. Since then we have continued to provide new and popular games - work on features and design - and establish the site. Our current Alexa rating is 159,000 but you will see it ranks very well in its core countries - and has been lower recently.
Monetizing the site was not a priority initially. Our first real effort saw the inventory being handled by ValueClick Media - however this month the inventory has been given to Tribal Fusion. Below are detailed revenue stats:
Other nominal revenue comes from the mochiad publisher network where we are certified. They share revenue with approved sites from ingame advertisements - and also provide access to over 1000 games that are updated every day.
Detailed analytics were not added until May through Quantcast and Google. Screenshots are included - however both have seen "blackouts" during updates and site revisions.
Traffic is generated from search / direct and a small group of referal sites that focus on casual gaming. We have never advertised nor paid for links. Many sites link to us without solicitation - while we provide links regularly to 3 or 4. Other sources are traditional link sites such as Digg.
The site currently operates in a shared hosting environment so cost is negligible. Obviously it should be moved to a more powerful server. However, we don't currently run into difficulty until 400-500 visitors are online at once.
The entire is built using the Joomla CMS framework. Template and core feature mods were done by me and I will include all source, images, and templates. This framework provides many easy to integrate features that are installed - but not currently published - such as forums and further community features.
The games are primarily sourced through mochiads - however we also use approx. 6-8 additional sources which will also be provided - none are cost based.
All code is open source so their are no licenses to concern yourself with.
There have been private offers for this site - and because of other project demands - I have decided it is time sell.
Please do not pm me and offer me very low prices for this site after asking many questions and making many requests. The site is worth what is worth - and with the right buyer will trend up very sharply. There is no current bin.
