Description:

I have decided to sell my online mens lifestyle magazine due to needing money to put behind a new project I've been working on. It's kind of sad to let this go with the amount of effort and time I've put into the mag. Anyway, here are the details:

40,000 unique visits since launch

145,000 page views since launch

Juice Mag has been visited in 150 different countries!

The most viewed page on Juice Mag, the Models home page, accounts for 3.93%

The most popular article written on Juice Mag, 20 creative but very romantic ways to propose, has received 1,390 page views

We profiled 670 models which was a huge task but I’m so glad we did it, as 60% of the traffic coming into the mag is via the model pages

We have spent 0 money on marketing or advertising

We are currently in 6th place in Google UK for “juice Mag” and are in pole position on Yahoo UK

According to Yahoo Site Explorer, we have 8,022 links which excludes internal

You'll get a much better idea of what the mag is about if you visit the site.

Revenue Details:

I've been testing out various different affiliate programs with not much joy (I'm new to affiliate marketing), however we did add Google Adsense on the model pages a month ago which has generated $10

Traffic Details:

Search Engines and social sites such as Stumble Upon

Questions to the Seller

  1. 85 years earnings is a standard evaluation for websites. Didn't you know?

  2. If you can't see where the value is, it's probably best to move onto the next auction. Thanks for posting your thoughts anyway.

  3. I can tell you from experience that this guy put in a ton of time and effort to develop a quality website. It would cost you the same price plus alot of time and heartache to put this together. I think it is a fair price based on quality of design, content and domain name.

  4. If you spend a million dollars starting a business and the business fails to make any money is it still worth one milion dollars? I don't think so.

  5. @bklyn - Thanks for the comments

@absilon - I'm not sure why you think the magazine has failed? Traffic is increasing... and over time the revenue will also. When I launched the mag. I wasn't expecting the magazine to generate revenue from day one. Would you?

  6. Hi

    The site looks good.

The hardest part on SP when selling a site is that everyone is obsessed by what the site is making in revenue. Part of the skill is acquiring sites with potential, and work put in, at a price which should reflect the ammont of time it has taken to get the sites content and traffic to where it is now. However mention potential here and you get the usual raft of negative comments..but potential can be the point.

    Good luck with your sale.

  7. Thanks Graham - you really did hit the nail on the head there.

We launched the "spot the lady boy game" a couple of days before I listed the site for sale here, and I'm pleased to confirm that it's now generating an additional 300 unique visitors per day... which brings the total figure to 1,000+

  9. Hi logodesignteam - There are quite a few places to get writers, including problogger's job board, guru and scriptlance. We have had 4 people contact us via the magazine to write for us, I'll happily provide these details on to the new owner. As to how much time, this all depends on how often you want to up-date the mag.

If you have any other Q's, please feel free to ask.

    Thanks.

  12. Couple more quick questions:
What is a post vs a page of content?
    Is this powered by wordpress?
Are you using an ad server?
    who is the current webhost?
what are the rights to the photos and is it easy to get more for future posts/articles?
Does the buyer have to choose a winner for the contest and send a Wii?

    By the way... great site!

  13. Thanks for the additional questions onlineguy:

What is a post vs a page of content?
Pages include content such as: Win a nintendo wii, About, adult chat lines, advertise, auto, contact, contact juicy Lucy, dating tips guide, juice polls, juicy Lucy, lifestyle, models, romance, spot the lady boy (4 pages total), travel, win an iphone (our previous competition) and write for us. All other pages (articles and models) are "posts" - Sorry I didn't make this more clear on my previous message!

    Is this powered by wordpress?
Yes, which makes adding and editing content very easy.

Are you using an ad server?
    No

    who is the current webhost?
The magazine is currently hosted on our dedicated server at Rackspace

what are the rights to the photos and is it easy to get more for future posts/articles?
For some posts we have gotten images from istockphoto.com and the others are from third parties.

Does the buyer have to choose a winner for the contest and send a Wii?
    Yes they do.

Any other questions, feel free to ask :)

  16. Why do you keep deleting questions about the copyright of images on the site? Do you not have any rights to use the content? Why would anyone buy it - buying a heap of trouble!

  18. True - "For some posts we have gotten images from istockphoto.com and the others are from third parties."
Have each of these third parties licensed you to use these images?
    Thanks.
