Description:

Best Pic Ever is a photo-sharing blog that has been around for over a year. The homepage has a PageRank of 4, but there are many pages with a PageRank 1-4 throughout the site.

The pictures are hosted on a secondary server to speed up the website. If you only have one server, it can easily be converted to be hosted on one.

All the code is custom PHP code created from scratch. Included is a content management system that makes posting new pictures extremely easy. Just enter the photo URL and it takes care of the rest.

    What are your hosting costs with the two servers?

    Do you source the photos yourself, or do users submit them? If you source them, how much work do you put into the site each week?

    kmull, I have two servers because I have multiple websites on the first. The servers are dedicated from The Planet, $125 each per month. But like I said, the site can easily run on one server.

    I get emails from users submitting photos, but I also find photos surfing the internet and reading my RSS feeds. I usually post about 5-10 new pictures a day, and that usually takes about 20-40 minutes. So per week, I'd say 2-3 hours.
