   The usual - why selling? Any bin in mind? Any type of marketing? How deep is the relationship with beyond.com - can you opt out of a relationship with them..
   Can I see search statistics please?

   No BIN in mind at this time.

   I don't market the site. I'm focusing my marketing efforts on 3 other job boards I own. That's why I'm selling, no time to work on it.

   If you take over the site, you will have to finish out my contract with Beyond, which ends in May. Then you can opt out. I wouldn't recommend opting out from them unless you can find a better partner, or take the site in a different direction.

   I apologize for deleting the comments...I had answered them all and updated the description to answer all of the questions for future visitors. I haven't sold a site here before, so I didn't know I wasn't supposed to delete the comments. Rest assured, there was nothing shady and I'm not trying to hide anything. As you'll see from the stats/revenue file, I'm being very upfront about everything.

   When I was giving it the attention it needed to net about $2,500/month, I would work on it for about 2 hours per week. I did email marketing to promote it to employers. Right now I pretty much do nothing. (I work on my other job boards)

   Someone who could dedicate an hour or so per day promoting the site to increase the job seeker traffic & resume postings, and who could market to employers would see revenue rise dramatically. Also, all of the regional sites have not been promoted at all, so there is a lot of opportunity there as well.

   What's up with the huge spike of traffic in August? If Beyond does all the selling, how come under sales rep it only mentions Beyond Marketing in about half of them? Where did the other half come from? Are there renewals that will come from these companies or are they 1 time purchases?

   1) Traffic spike - I had put up a page called "Top 50 Interview Mistakes" that got picked up by Stumbleupon. That was the cause of the spike. The traffic did settle down after that, but it's still higher than it was before the spike. (This illustrates that this site can go viral very quickly if you promote it right)

   2) Beyond.com follows up on all employer registrations, and sells them job postings and resume packages. But some customers (about half) go ahead and post a job without Beyond.com's help. So that's why Beyond.com doesn't appear on those job listings.

   3) Renewals. I did some analysis of the spreadsheet, and found that about 32% of job posters are repeat customers. Since all jobs posted on MediaJobs.net also appear on the other job boards on Beyond.com's network, which has over 15,000 job boards and reaches over 6 million job seekers, there is tremendous value to employers who post jobs on MediaJobs.net.

   Some additional stats worth mentioning:
   From 9/1/07 to 9/5/08:
   77 companies purchased 217 jobs or job posting or resume packages
   On average, companies made 2.8 purchases per year.
   Average net revenue per customer = $214 (i.e., the value of a customer)

    does the contract with Beyond definitely have to continue if you sell the site? I assume the contract is with your business and not the site specifically - or do they have some sort of ownership?

    The buyer would have to finish out my contract, which runs through May of 2009. After that, you can either renew with Beyond or go in a different direction.

    Also, Beyond.com pays monthly by check, fyi.

    MediaJobs.net is on the Enterprise plan. The contract I have with Beyond.com is a 2 year deal whereby MediaJobs.net is powered by Beyond.com through May of 2009. Whoever buys the site will have to take over that contract. (i.e., they can't move the site to a different service until after 5/09). The contract basically states that Beyond.com will power the site and handle all of the technical issues, billing & credit card charges, hosting, customer service, and collections, in exchange for 55% of the revenue.

    When you were doing promotion, how did you promote the site?
    Have you ever done any promotion on the city specific sites?

    You have other job websites. Are they using Beyond.com? Do they in --any way-- offer media jobs?

    I promoted the site by emailing employers and encouraging them to post jobs on the site. I also had Ezine articles written (google "mediajobs.net" for more info) had blog posts posted, and and put out a press release:

    The other sites are not specifically focused on media jobs, but they do have a "Media & Communications" job category. Two of the other sites I own are geographically focused, and the other is a large job board with over 250,000 jobs across the U.S. and is not focused on media jobs.

    To be honest, I don't think anyone should worry about competing with me. The major competition (and opportunity) is to go after the "The Big 3" - Monster, HotJobs, and Careerbuilder, whose market share is eroding every month, as employers realize that they can reach the market they want, and get quality candidates, but posting jobs on niche sites like MediaJobs.net

    The Enterprise program states you have to have 100,000 unique visitors a month. Just curious how that works for you? Or are you grandfathered into the program since you've been around for awhile?

    Hi,

    You mention that the site is Ranked #1 on Google for KW "media jobs" .
    How long has this been the case and how much work is involved in keeping it there ?

    You mention your other job sites. Can you give a list of these ?

    Does the "net $16K" include the $250 per month for Beyond.com that is then paid them? Or is the end revenue 16K - 3K for Beyond.com , ie 13K ?

    MediaJobs.net is not the only property I own, so the $250 per month cannot be accurately subtracted from the MediaJobs.net revenue exclusively. But yes, you should plan on that being an expense going forward. But then again, if you are planning to buy this site and do nothing with it, and just take payments from Beyond.com, and not promote it and grow the revenue, you will probably get outbid by someone who knows that this is a great opportunity with tremendous upside for the person who is able to promote the site and grow the revenue.

    The person who bids on this site needs to be thinking about where they can take it, not where it has been.

    FYI, I just saw that accountingjobs.com is up for bid via snapnames, and the reserve price is $125,000. I'm not saying that that's what MediaJobs.net is worth, but it does provide a frame of reference.

    I'm interested , basically on the strength of the current high Google ranking.

    I have noticed however after a dozen or so tests that sometimes the site ranks at No 1 , and sometimes that it is on page 7 or so of the results which may indicate its rank may be in the process of changing.

    Will you be sharing your strategies for keeping it high in the rankings as part of the handover/transition ? How much work does this entail, and what are the costs associated with it ?

    I just searched kw media jobs 10 times, and it appeared #1 every time. As for strategies, when I launched the site, I had 10 articles written for $200. I also put out a couple of press releases. I then hired an SEO expert for $600 who submitted the articles and press releases to articles sites, and also created a lot of back links. It's also listed in DMOZ, which is utilized by hundreds of search engines, so that helps a lot too.

    I don't currently do any SEO work, and have no costs associated with it.
