 Motivation to sell:

I would like to transfer the proceeds from this sale to commercial real estate where I am more familiar, and already dedicating my time. I do not have the expertise, time, or ability to grow or continue expansion on this venture alone. As demonstrated with the screen shots this venture was performing excellently when I had a team in place for marketing, and management. When the team left in September I was too busy with commercial real estate to do anything, but let it run in auto-pilot for the last 3 months. The contracted support staff handled all questions and support, and the buyer can hire them at 625$/month if they would like an experienced 24/7 staff to handle all the support/tech side. I do highly recommend them, and it allows for more time to dedicate to marketing. By pausing the marketing campaigns, never contacting, or motivating affiliates beyond payments, and without the other marketing efforts that were previously made, which should be tracked in analytics, the sites are expectantly performing worse. Ideally I would like to sell to someone who can use the existing affiliates, campaigns, and proven methods tracked in Google analytics to fix up this ignored venture. All of the affiliates are still there, and happy, since I pay in full, and on time. All of the campaigns are still there, and paused, since I have no idea how to manage these. All of the Google analytics have been, and are still tracking everything, which should help reproduce the success the last marketing/management team had. Huge upside for experienced marketer.

Payment Details:

I would hope the buyer could see potential beyond simply meeting past performance and reaching the scheduled income. I would love to sell to someone that could better utilize this venture to see it grow. I would also be more comfortable meeting the buyer face to face in Southern California to make the transfers in person, but this is not a requirement. Payment is required by Bank Wire to the business account, or cash in person. In person, cash payments will receive a 15% discount on bidding price. Payment must be made in full within 5 days of winning bid completion. Proof of funds must be provided within 3 days of accepted bid. Failure to meet deadlines without seller approved delays forfeits your right to purchase, and seller has the right to contact the next highest bidder with an option to purchase at their lower price. The above numbers are based on continued performance from the averages of months that were managed, and had a marketing team. This should be the easy target for an experienced marketer. A smart marketer should be able to expand, and provide better return beyond simply matching what my team was able to produce, but these are simply the numbers for meeting their previous efforts.

These numbers are based on the average monthly income from the End of February to the end of October stretched over 12 months.

Bidding will start with the current profit which represents the expected return by running it the way I have been (no marketing effort, auto-pilot, no time invested). I would hope that bidding gets closer to the scheduled profit, which will represent the expected return for someone that can simply meet past recorded efforts in marketing before the team left. True entrepreneurs who can see value beyond simply past performance are encouraged to purchase.

    Also tell me how much money per month is spent on adwords and if I can get the adwords account.
    Another problem, Google doesnt allot bidding on the term IPHONE so how can I market this website via ppc?

    Have you had any issues with Apple?

    given that you are doing something they hate people doing, and you have their trademark in the domain - they could easily take if off you if they wanted.

    Hello Vic: I consulted with my attorney on this early on, and I feel very safe running these sites as they are. I can not provide legal advice, so please contact your legal advisers. I know Apple is required to say that they dislike applications that allow more people to buy, and use their products because they are in a business relationship with AT&T. Please consider that I am making Apple a ton of money by promoting the purchase of their products to customers outside of their target market who would normally not buy from Apple. I very much doubt that Apple will spend money on Lawyers to come after this comparatively small site that is making them anywhere from:
    Currently 1st Year Customers~ 5,834 x 475$ Average iPhone Sale = $2,771,150 Income to Apple
    Scheduled Yearly Customers~ 14,459 x 475$ Average iPhone Sale = $6,868,025 Income to Apple
    Apple must appear to not like unlocking, so don't go shoving it in their face with TV ads, but honestly I am not worried about them spending more money than my site makes on lawyers to shot them selves in the foot and loose from $2,771,150 to $6,868,025 in iPhone sales.

    There are many more reasons I am not worried, like the fact that there are many other unlocking sites that have never had problems since unlocking started, Affiliates are able to use direct sales links on their own sites making these sites appear smaller, and many more reasons.

    I had similar fears before educating myself and speaking with my attorney. I also was referred to a host which does not fold to lawyers idle threats when contacted. They have a good history of allowing clients to settle in court which can take years, all while the site stays up. I can provide the information for this host if you like, but their price is 200$ a month. I never used them, because I don't see the risk with all things considered.

    Hello WeTheBest: Using the numbers from the profit and loss statement in quick books the Net Operating Margin Percentages, or total costs and total profit comes to about 22% overhead and 78% profit. This is the ratio I used to calculate the net profit. For the individual campaigns the pictures on the right show the overall history Cost Per Acquisition, which for Google is $13.75 spent to make $39.95. When the marketing team had the PPC running the daily spend was around 900$, which using the same ratio would be $2615 income from Google. This is further backed by the pictures on the right showing Daily income higher than this to account for combined efforts.

    I added two more screen shots to prove the income, which easily justifies the math used to calculate the pricing. This shows how prices are simply past on actual performance, and not some potential or unproven ideas.

    When I saw your question about the term iPhone I had to turn the Google campaign on to remember how we did it, and I can assure you we are beating all the competition. Not only are we able to bid on numerous "iPhone" keywords, but to date ours is the only ad that I have seen which displays the exact phrase "iPhone" in the search and content ads with no problems from Google. One of the team used to work for Google, and implemented a method that follows the rules, and apparently NONE of the competition knows about. Obviously I will not disclose this publicly, but I can provide a screen shot demonstrating how when searching for the term "unlock iphone" in Google our ads are the ONLY ads which actually show "iPhone" in it. If you already know this then I won't bother turning on the campaign again. Do a search for "unlock iphone" now, and you will see how the competition is using many horribly mislead marketing tricks like; using zero's instead of o's, adding extra letters on the term iPhone, and many more useless attempts. This is only a small demonstration of the value that is just sitting here that I have no idea how to use, and why for a knowledgeable marketer the scheduled income should be easy to obtain.

    I received a question by PM that some others might be wondering also. I will leave the poster anonymous in case that is there wish, but here is the exact question:

    "I have a couple of questions:
    1) Why did the marketing team leave in September?
    2) Who/what did the marketing team consist of?
    3) Are they contactable for future work and maintaining this venture?

    1) When the team I was working with started taking on too many other projects I had plans on selling the site, and had informed everyone that I would be returning to real estate. We all agreed to part ways, because I know from experience that paying them when I was no longer watching/interested in the venture would mean less effort on their part. Even when fully managed, and automated this venture needs someone to manage the managers.

    2) The marketing team was a contracted PPC company with a team of 2-3 people who worked together for the Google, Yahoo, and MSN campaigns. A separately contracted affiliate/gorilla marketing consultant was used for all other marketing work/advice, and at one point he was even giving me some things to do so I could learn about internet marketing. I would highly recommend simply hiring a marketing employee, which would have been my plan if I was motivated to split my attention, and stay in this market.

    3) The PPC team can be contacted, and when I parted with them they hoped I would return. They were charging 850$ a month to manage the campaigns, but I was probably their smallest income client and was starting to feel treated as such. I would recommend a direct hire for better performance than the scheduled income, and more accountability. The old PPC team would probably work just fine and you might be able to get better than past performance out of them, but it would probably take a lot of management on your end by constantly tracking their efforts, and contacting them. They have offices in Europe, USA, and elsewhere. I was using the Irvine, CA office. I will not disclose the company and contact info to the winning bidder.

    For the affiliate/marketing consultant I can provide the contact information. He is very pleasant to work with, but like any consultant he has to like and approve of his clients. Whether he will continue on this venture would be dependent on his assessment of the new owner. If he likes you, then I see no reason why he wouldn't like to get back into it. His fees are market averages that he presents in bids/proposals outlining the tasks by each item. He works from home in New York, or vacation spots like Southern America, since he travels a lot. He does have an internet phone number, so I never knew the difference.
