Description:
The purpose of this modification is to allow members to import an external RSS feed -- most typically a blog -- from another site into their vbulletin blog. For an example of a site run on vbulletin, check sitepoint. For an example of vbulletin blogs, click here.
This mod is dependent upon vbulletin and the vbulletin blogs add-on.
The specs of the mod are as follows:
1. User must be able to import RSS feed. Specifically, feeds from blogspot.com, wordpress.com, and feed from yahoo pipes must work.
2. Each time the RSS feed is update with a new entry, this new entry will be posted to the user's blog, under the user's name. This should be perceived as the same as a blog post made manually. The title, published date, and content fields should from the RSS feed should be mapped to the appropriate parts of the vbulletin database.
3. Users must be able to remove and update feeds they add.
4. This should be based on usergroup permissions; i.e. admins can specify via admincp which usergroups can import the RSS feed.
5. Admins should also be able to specify the URL of the imported feed via the user's page in the admincp.
