(Senior) PHP / MySQL developer / architect

We are searching for a Senior PHP developer with passion for quality software development and to strengthen our team in Amsterdam. You are responsible for completing the entire development process. You start with collecting and analyzing customer requirements and translate them into technical solutions. You work customer focused and you are able to translate technical concepts into understandable language for the client. You make the necessary documentation and planning and focus both on the operational and technical project environment. This means that you manage your own project. You develop the application together with other colleagues in Amsterdam and  Ukraine. You handle the communication to the customers and keep them informed throughout the project. At key milestones you discuss your project with the client. Ultimately you take care of the deployment of your web application and establish the maintenance phase.

Responsibilities:

- The construction and development of complex web applications, including OsCommerce Shopping sites, project management, content management systems, search engines and internal fraud prevention systems
- You do not just look and think about the technical implementation but is also involved in the functional design and software architecture of the application.
- You translate the wishes of the customer to an appropriate product
- You will actively work on new concepts and development within the Total Internet Group

You:

- Have a passionate software developer

- Have minimum of 3 years experience with developing web applications

- Have a good understanding and analytical thinking HBO

- Designed in object-oriented PHP5

- Are familiar with web-based standards (HTML, XML, CSS)

- Have experience in developing applications that make heavy use of DHTML / AJAX / JavaScript

- Have knowledge of database architecture and SQL (MySQL 5)

- Are familiar with Linux or other UNIX-alike systems

- Are able to write clear functional and technical documentation

- Are familiar with concepts such as UML

- Have worked with version control systems like Subversion, CVS, and Git

- Are open to new ideas, follow the latest developments closely and would like to continue to develop yourself

- Are able to work independently and take responsibility

- Have good communication skills

- Are in contact with customers someone who think pro-active

- Can speak and write Dutch

Pre's:

- ZCE Certification

- Experience with other programming languages (Bash, Python, C, Ruby, Perl, etc)

- Experience with Zend Framework and / or other web development frameworks

- Experience with maintaining and managing the Apache web server

- Affinity with open source software

 

Location: Amsterdam

Employment: annual contract, with view to permanent employment

Hours per week: 40

Salary: Euro 2500 ~ 3500/month
